Baby Beck

This past Sunday I helped host a baby shower for my friend Louise. I met Louise through our community group about 3 years ago! She is such a delight to be around and I was so excited to help be apart of this special occasion. Louise is due at the end of July and is having a boy! Myself and seven other girls hosted the shower for her and baby Beck! The shower was at Michelle Yount's house and it was so fun putting it together! Michelle did a great job dividing up all of the tasks. My job was to make something for the front door and get some plants for the table. Here are some pictures from the shower. I took every picture with my Iphone so the quality isn't very good...So sorry!
This is what I made to go on the front door...frame with burlap and wooden initial!
The food table: we had hummus, fruit kabobs, cucumber sandwiches, and cupcakes. The topiary tree and 2 pots with ivy I put together.

The banner Michelle made
Cute canvas for Beck's nursery

Party favors-seed packets in small pots.
I am so glad I was able to be apart of this baby shower! I can't wait to meet baby Beck!

HELP!

So as you can see I'm not very good at figuring out the header on my blog. I added this new background and header to my blog. How do I get the Pruitt Place centered on my header? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Little Rock

This weekend I went to Little Rock to help host a baby shower for my dear friend Sarah. Sarah and I have been friends since we were in elementary school. We grew up on the same street and shared clothes. Literally, when we got into junior high and high school we would go down to each others house and borrow something to wear for school the following day. I miss those days :( Sarah now lives in Chicago and is about to finish up with Chiropractic school. Riley and her will be moving back to Arkansas..YEA!! They bought a house in the Heights in Little Rock. I got to go see it and absolutely loved it! They are planning to do some renovations to it before they move in December. The main reason for going to Little Rock was to celebrate baby Hadley! Cat's sister and I helped host the baby shower. The shower was at Loca Luna restaurant. It was a great venue and perfect for the shower. Cat and I were in charge of all of the decor (right up my alley). I had so much fun putting together this shower! I was very happy with how everything turned out. Here are some pictures of the baby shower:
Hadley's nursery is going to be yellow, hot pink, and orange. So we incorporated those colors into our decor. I made the pom poms and Cat and her mother did the flower arrangements. The small pots were placed on 2 coordinating pieces of scrapbook paper to add more color.

Another table with different color of pom pom

I had this yellow vase already (Sarah wanted to keep it and I wouldn't let her HA!) We found the sticks at Signed Sealed and Delivered. She did get to keep those!
The food table. All of the food was provided by the restaurant. We had queso, veggies, fruit, cupcakes, chicken salad sandwiches, and fiesta rollups.
Cat and I before the guests arrived!
The mommy-to-be, her sister, and mother
Mom and I..we were making fun of Sarah and Cat because they always put their hands on their hips when they take a picture. Mom and I thought we would try it out!

Sarah and I enjoying the yummy cupcakes!

The gift from my mom
Does this look familiar?? This was on a previous post. I made this for Sarah to hang in the nursery! It matches her baby bedding!

The gift from the hostesses..diaper bag, diapers, and wipes.
Party Favors-Cat made the covered pretzels and I did the lemonade favors.
I
I put pink and yellow lemonade into mason jars and added this little note!
The three of us at the end of the shower! See the hands? I had such a blast putting together this shower for Sarah and Hadley! I can't wait to meet Hadley!

Little Big Town

Last night Andy and I went to the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers for a concert. This weekend is the Poultry Festival and I usually go every year (for the concert-FREE). This year the concert was awesome!! I have always liked Little Big Town but had never seen them in concert. They were great Live! Since my mom works at Tyson we got Gold tickets for the concert. That means we got to sit really close! We were probably 8 or 9 rows back. Andy wasn't too excited about going because he doesn't like big crowds but he really enjoyed it! Here are some pics from the concert:

I'm off to Little Rock for the weekend! I have a baby shower to host! Have a great weekend!

Sneak Peak

This week I have been working on some projects for some baby showers that I am hosting. I have one baby shower this weekend in Little Rock for my dear friend Sarah. Sarah and her husband Riley are expecting their first baby girl in August. I am so excited to meet their precious baby girl. Sarah and I grew up together and she went away to college and then moved to Chicago to go to Chiropractic school. She will graduate in December and will move back to the great state of Arkansas! I am so excited that they are going to be closer to us! So for her shower I wanted to make her something for the nursery. Her colors are pink, yellow, and orange. It is not finished but here is a sneak peek of what I'm going to make.

I'm sure you can figure out what I'm making! Check back later for the finished product! Happy Thursday!

Fruit Salsa

I recently found a new recipe and I was dying to try it out! I found this recipe online and it was so good. It is fruit salsa and you serve it with cinnamon sugar chips. Here is the recipe:
What You Need:
2 kiwis
2 red apples
1 pkg of strawberries
1 pkg of blueberries
2 Tbs of white sugar
1 Tbs of brown sugar
3 Tbs of strawberry preserves
10-15 White Tortillas
Melted Butter
Cinnamon and Sugar
What To Do:
1. Cut up all of the fruit into small pieces and place in bowl.
2. Add the white sugar, brown sugar, and strawberry preserves and let chill in refrigerator.
3. Butter one side of the tortilla then place the cinnamon sugar mixture onto the buttered side.
4. Cut the tortilla into pieces and place on large baking sheet.
5. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.
This would be great for summer bbq's, bridal, or baby showers. Super easy to make and everyone will love it!

Nail Strips

Last night when I got home from dinner at my parents I was home alone. Andy had gone to dinner and a movie with some friends and wouldn't be home until later. Needless to say I was bored..I took RJ for a walk around the neighborhood and he almost pulled me down. We were jogging just fine and then he saw a bunny! He freaked out and started to pull me in the direction of the bunny. I thought I was going to go face first on the pavement...I mean he is a huge dog! However, he calmed down and we went about our way without the bunny. We made it back home and I decided to try out the Sally Hansen nail strips. I bought these back in April and just now put them on. I LOVE them! They were super easy to put on and are such a fun design! I didn't think I would go for leopard but I really like them! If you haven't tried the nail strips you must! They have all different colors and prints.
Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips
Here are the strips that I bought! You get 16 strips so enough to do all of your nails and some extra if you mess up. You can buy it at Target, Ulta, and Wal-Mart. You should check it out!

Bargain Shoppers

Yesterday my friend Ashley and I went to a flea market in Prairie Grove. I have been to several flea markets in Tontitown but this one is by far my favorite. Its called Daisies and Olives. They have some great booths with cute things. Ashley was looking for some frames to go in her bathroom and I wasn't really looking for anything in particular. Ashley's birthday is next week and since we were together I decided to buy her some of the items she wanted for her birthday. It worked out perfectly! I came away with a red tray! I have been wanting a colored tray to put on my ottoman and I finally found one! I was really wanting green but red will work! It will be great for my Christmas decorations. All of the items Ashley found had to be spray painted a different color. So after the flea market we got busy. Ashley came away with these items:
Before: $10.00 Blue Rod Iron candle holder.
After: White Candle holder. We spray painted it white to go in her bathroom.
Before: $10.00 Gold framed mirror
After: Gray framed mirror
Before: $23.00 Gold open back frame with mirror
After: Yellow open back frame. We ran out of spray paint so this was the best picture I could get. The colors she is using is obviously gray, yellow, and white. I can't wait to see it hung in her bathroom. If you haven't been to Daisies and Olives you should definitely check it out! We found some great things at reasonable prices. I already want to go back and I don't even need anything!
