Equinox

So...last weekend our good friends Nick and Brandi came to visit. They just recently moved to Little Rock and we were so excited to see them! However, we think moving back to Little Rock has done them more harm than good. We were all sitting in the living room after the game Saturday night and Nick brings up this bracelet called a power band. None of us had ever heard of it. He says it helps with balance and that he tried one on and could really tell a difference. We were all like whatever!! He was like no seriously it does....I ordered one from Ebay for $1.66. We really laughed then! Anyway...somehow we get on the topic of the equinox. I'm pretty sure Brandi brought it up. I had never heard of it before, she said its on the first day of fall when there is the same amount of sunlight as darkness. That day would have been last Wednesday, she said that during that time you can stand a broom up by itself. We were all very skeptical and did not believe her. So since it was just a few days prior to Saturday we decided to go get a broom and try it....and it WORKED!! I could not believe it! It was so weird! Whitney went and got her broom and hers stayed up much better than mine. Of course I have proof of this event....
Here it is the broom standing on its own.....
Proving that I'm not touching it..
Whitney...looks pretty scared! We had a great time experimenting with the brooms! Nick did get his power band in and sent us a picture of him balancing! Pretty hilarious! Hope you have a great weekend, we are off to Kansas City for a Nascar race.

I decorated our front door for fall this past week and I have to say I'm pretty excited about how it turned out. I still need to add some real pumpkins but other than that its finished! Here is a look at what I did...
I used leaf garland around the door, leaf garland around my urns, sat lit pumpkins on top of the urns, and wicker pumpkins beside the urns. I will add some real pumpkins later.
Okay..so I know this is pretty silly but I was so proud that he posed and didn't move. Isn't he precious?
Andy and I in front of our door. I guess I should have had RJ in this picture! I will post another picture later of the door at night when the pumpkins are lit. I'm so glad Fall is finally here!

Gameday

Yesterday was the big game. Hogs vs. Alabama...Andy got to go to the game and I did not :( I was definitely a little sad about that. Our friends Nick and Brandi came up for the weekend and stayed with us. They went tailgating with some of their friends and then Nick found a ticket. Brandi came back and watched the game with me, Clay, and Whitney at the house. I made some yummy corn dip, chocolote chip cookies, and red velvet cupcakes in honor of the Hogs.

We had a great time watching the game and of course we were on the edge of our seats for the entire game. I was so proud of how well the Hogs played, they had some mistakes but it definitely wasn't a shut out like I thought it might be. While Nick and Andy were at the game, we all stayed at the house and prepared dinner for everyone. I made homemade meatballs, potato casserole, green bean bundles, and apple dumplings. It turned out really good! Everyone enjoyed the food! After we ate we just hung out and watched more games on tv. Everyone was a little sad about the loss and the evening was somewhat somber. However, we did have some excitement..I'll get to that in a bit.

Nick...isn't he just precious??? :)

I'm finished!!

SO..I have finally finished decorating my house for fall, except the outside. I'm pretty pleased with how things turned out. I am so ready for the cooler weather to get here and the leaves to change! Fall is one of my favorite times of year. Here are some pictures of my decor
Here is a view of my kitchen table...My favorite is the lanterns and the pumpkin candles

What the place setting looks like up close...I can't decide if I need to put napkins...any suggestions?

By the fireplace...I was proud of myself for the vase arrangement..turned out pretty good

This is probably my favorite in the whole house. I took these arrangements from my mom's house. My aunt made them for her a couple of years ago. They really make my mantle look fun!

My entry way table, Lindsey helped me do this!

One of the end tables..love the pumpkin candle holder on the bottom

The other end table

This idea came from Pottery Barn...they had covered books with brown packaging paper. Well I didn't have brown but I had a cream color. So I covered these books then colored over them with orange and green crayons. I was pretty happy with how they turned out. This is how I used them

This is a brown tray that I put scrapbooking paper in the bottom of to add more color. This tray sits on my leather ottoman in the living room. I may even change the paper to a more fall decor..what do you think?  Those are my decorations! I will post some later when I finish the outside of the house. Happy Fall Yall!!

Wooo Pig Sooie

Today Andy and I went to watch the Razorback game at Amanda and Aaron's house. We had a great time hanging out with friends and cheering on the Hogs. Amanda went all out with the food and decorations for the big game. She was an amazing hostess!
The table with the dips and dessert! She made red velvet cupcakes with white icing to go with the Razorback colors. So cute!

The beautiful flowers and Go Hogs canvas

Ice Tea dispenser...so fitting for the watch party

All the girls...Amanda, Me, Lauren, and Maggie. I love these girls! We had such a fun time watching the boys get so mad and then so excited. I wish I had a picture of them jumping up and down like little boys. It was quite entertaining! It was definitely a great game!

Stay tuned...

Well...I have officially started decorating the house for fall. I was so excited to get everything down from the attic and get to work. Last night our friends Lindsey and Grayson came over for dinner. Lindsey didn't have a clue that she was really coming to work :) She was a great sport! We got everything out and started sorting things. We started at the entry way table and worked our way into the living room. We put my dishes out on the kitchen table but that was about it. After staring at all I realized I needed more stuff....darn! I went to Hobby Lobby today to grab a few things! It is still a work in progress so I'm not going to post any pictures just yet. Stay tuned...

work then play

Today Andy and I cleaned, cleaned, and cleaned. We did everything from dusting to mopping to cleaning baseboards. We also worked on cleaning the windows inside and out. That is definitely not fun! We didn't do every window today because it took so long so we decided to....save the others for another day. Not a lot of fun but it needed to be done. After the cleaning was finished, my friend Sarah came over to put some fall outfits together for me. I'm so ready for fall and all that comes with it. Football, decorating, craft fairs, pumpkins, apples, and most of all fall clothes. We put together a lot of outfits but I'm just going to share my favorites.
Denim leggings, pinstriped shirt, gray tank, brown belt, and brown tall boots

Black dress, red and black leopard scarf, black slouchy boots

Purple dress, gray chunky sweater, black slouchy boots

Drake's Birthday

Today we celebrated my cousin Drake's 13th birthday. His actual birthday is on Monday but we had his party today. The party was at the Naturals baseball park. My mom was able to reserve the Tyson suite for his party. He didn't know about it so it was a surprise! He was so thrilled! We had a great day at the park....the weather was so nice! We ate lots of food and cheered on the Naturals. They did end up losing but it was a great game!

Birthday Boy....I can't believe he is a teenager! Isn't he handsome?
