Spring Break Surprise

My spring break has flown by. We head back to school on Monday and I am so not ready to get back. We have two weeks before the Benchmark test so we have a lot of work to do. I haven't done a whole lot on my spring break, this is the first spring break where I have stayed in town in a while. My mom and I went to Tulsa/Oklahoma City last weekend to do some shopping. We also got to see my buddy, Megan. It was great getting to spend time with her since I don't get to see her often. I didn't do much else until Wednesday and I went to Branson with my friends, Lindsey and Carly. We did a little shopping and then headed home. Today was probably the highlight of my spring break. I have been bugging Andy for months about getting a new car. My car was a lease so it was time to look for something else. I have always loved SUVS and decided to look at the Acadia and Yukon/Tahoe. We have been looking and have not been able to find anything in our price range, until today! We had looked at this vehicle previously but never test drove it. We took it for a drive and decided that it was a good buy! I wasn't crazy about the color but I think it will grow on me. It is a 2007 GMC Yukon. I know your thinking that is such a big vehicle but I have always wanted a bigger SUV. I was thinking long term and when we have kids (not anytime soon) it will be great. It has leather seats, sunroof, dvd player, remote start, etc. I am so excited!

UH OH

Today was such a dreary day in Fayetteville. The temperature has been in the forties and it has rained almost all day. I left the house early this morning to go meet up with my dad to look at furniture. We put RJ in the garage since it was pouring. I left not thinking anything about leaving him in the garage because we have done this numerous times. I did not get home until 4:30 and this is what I saw in our garage...
He tipped over the recycle bin and I guess went through the entire bin and ripped everything to shreds. I could not believe this! He has never done this before so I have no idea why he did it today. I wasn't too happy and he knew he was in trouble. I simply gave him a swat and he went and laid down. I left the mess for Andy to clean up!

Craving

I'm not a huge Sonic Fan but recently I have found something worth going for. A teacher at my school got a drink from there and it looked very tasteful. I asked her what it was and it is a Strawberry Lime Chiller.
OH MY GOODESS it is by far one of my favorite fruity drinks. It is similar to a strawberry shake but it has lime mixed in and it gives it a kick! If you haven't tried it you must!! They also come in Pineapple, Cherry, Strawberry, and maybe Cranberry? not sure about that one. I think I will stick to what I know is good and that's Strawberry! I went after school and got one today..I wonder how many more times I will go this week?

SPRING IS HERE

I just love SPRING!! The grass gets greener, the flowers start to bloom, the time changes (for the better I think), and the best part is you get the enjoy the beautiful weather outside. However, this weekend the weather was not springlike. The high on Saturday was 48 and the high today was 53 (a little better than yesterday). I am hoping the weather will start to get warmer so we can be outside more. We love to ride our bikes on the Lake Fayetteville trail. We went last weekend with some friends and had a great time. I can't wait to go again! I haven't started planting any flowers or landscaping yet but I have decorated the front door for Spring/Easter. My aunt made this FABULOUS wreath for me and I just had to share it with you! I took her the flowers and easter eggs and she did the rest. Isn't she amazing?? I thought it would be fun to add the easter eggs to the trees to tie it altogether.

Girls Weekend in OKC

This past weekend I went to Oklahoma City with some friends to see a concert. Lindsey, Shelby, Tara, Kelly, and I all left Saturday morning for our weekend getaway. We drove to Tulsa and ate at the yummy Cheesecake Factory. We couldn't leave without a slice of cheesecake, I got Oreo which was very good. After we ate, we drove to OKC. We arrived and checked in at our hotel which was in Bricktown about 2 blocks away from the Ford Center, which is where the concert was. The concert was called Winter Jam and featured several christian artists such as: Revive, Sidewalk Prophets, Robert Pierre, FireFlight, Newsong, Newboys, Tenth Avenue North, and Third Day. It was a great concert!

On Sunday, we drove to the OKC Memorial. This memorial is to honor those who died in the federal building bombing on April 19, 1995. At the time, this was the worst act of violence on American soil. Now, the twin towers is the worst. It was my second time to go and I saw some different things this time than I did the first time. Below are some pictures of the memorial.

These chairs represent the people who died in the bombing of the federal building, the smaller chairs represent the children who died.
