What a deal...

Today, I ran some errands before coming home and finishing the laundry. I went to Wal-Mart, Old Navy, Sams, and Kohl's. I went to Kohl's on the hunt for some new tennis shoes for Andy, but I didn't have much luck. However, I did find some cute brown heels for me! They had been $60.00 and I bought them for $20.00!! What a deal! I'm just hoping that I will wear them, I tend to buy shoes and not wear them very often.
Aren't they cute?? I have a wedding to go to this weekend, I think I will wear them with my dress! Not that I'm counting down or anything, but we only have 5 more days of school! Woo Hoo!

Row, row, row, your boat...

We have had a great Memorial Day weekend. We along with our friends, Lindsey and Grayson went camping and canoeing at the Buffalo River. We left on Friday and came back this morning. I have been camping a few times but this was probably the most "roughing it" I have experienced. We didn't camp at a typical campground, it felt like we were camping in an open field next to the river. There were no showers, the bathrooms were basically outhouses that were spread along the campsite. It was interesting! I do not have any pictures of the entire weekend, I don't know what I was thinking. We went canoeing all day on Saturday and it was so much fun! The Buffalo is so nice and clean. We ran into a group of people several times that were just obnoxious. One guy said to every canoe that went by..."Hey I know you...Where you from?" It was funny at first but after the twentieth time it was annoying! There were some interesting people on the river. There was an entire group of women who were singing Row, row, row your boat. How fitting for the occasion! Andy and Grayson fished as we floated down the river..they caught several perch and a couple of small mouth bass, but no keepers. We floated 10 miles and then headed back to campsite. Andy cooked steaks for dinner and we had a blueberry and cherry cobbler that he made in the dutch oven..Yummy! I didn't sleep good on Friday night but I was out like a light last night and slept so good! We packed up our things this morning and drove home. Andy and I went to my parents house for a cookout and swimming. After we came home I took a 2 hour nap. Life is good! I hope you have had a great Memorial Day weekend with friends and family!

21

Last night we had some friends over for a cookout in celebration of my birthday. It was a typical cookout with hamburgers, fries, and baked beans. We hung out, played ladder ball, and of course ate.

HaPpY BiRtHdAy To mE

Today was my 26th birthday! I had a great day. My wonderful husband made me blueberry pancakes for breakfast. They were so yummy! He is the best! When I got to school my homeroom mom surprised me with cookies from Shelby Lynn's and a basket full of cards and goodies from my students. The basket had a gift card to Riffraff, Chex Mix, M&Ms, and magazines. So fun!

It was an awesome surprise and made my day extra special. The cards that the students made me were so sweet and cute. One student wrote this:
It's hard to read but it says...even though your getting kinda old your still beutiful from the inside out. So cute!
Kids are hilarious you never know what they are going to say! My wonderful co-workers bought my lunch at Schlotzsky's and made me a wonderful strawberry pie. They are the best!

This was the strawberry pie that we had at lunch today, I still have over half left. My co-workers got me this cute silver dish with a spreader and a gift card to Warren's. Woo Hoo! Ready to go shop!

After school I came home and got ready for my birthday dinner. My whole family and Andy's parents went to eat at Noodles. It is one of my favorite restaurants.  After dinner we came back to our house to have petitfours from Shelby Lynn's.

Shelby Lynn's has the best petitfours. My mom also surprised me with these:

Chocolate covered strawberries!!! My sweet cousin, Drake has been taking guitar lessons and he played Happy Birthday to me tonight! It was so sweet!! Thank you Drake!

My family spoiled me with great birthday gifts. I got a gift certificate for a pedicure and Westwood Gardens. I got a new red umbrella for our patio, shoes, shorts, candles, pillows, and a curtain. This was a wonderful birthday! Thank you to all my family and friends who made it special. OH....one more thing..my uncle was feeling a little left out since he hasn't gotten to make his debut on the blog so here you go Uncle Scott...

Ballpark

We took all of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to Arvest Ballpark to watch the Naturals play today. It was so much fun! The kids loved it! Some of them had never been before so they were super excited. The game was a reward for those students who worked extra hard on the Benchmark test. We left school at 10:15 and returned at 2:00. The kids got to watch the game, play on inflatables, and of course eat ballpark food! What could be better? I was so grateful that the weather was nice today, I even got a little sun which was much needed. I hope we get to go back to the ballpark next year!

This was definitely the kids favorite part, the inflatables

Kitchen

My friend Ashley and I took on a new project this past weekend. We had seen these cute rugs on facebook and thought we could do it too! We just loved the colors and designs. We wanted to spice up our kitchens with some color. The rugs are made out of lenoleum which we bought at Lowe's. We used the rough side and put a primer on it. Then it was time to pick our design and start painting! We were both a little apprehensive about this project because we are not artsy. However, I think we were both proud of ourselves with the finished product. It took us a total of 6 hours to make these fabulous rugs, I know that seems like a long time but it was our first time. With practice we should be able to do it faster. Here is the early stages of the rug
We used the same color scheme and design...red, green, brown, and gold

Ashley working hard on her rug :)

This was the "rough draft" we had to add more paint.....several times

Almost finished, just need the initial

Ta Da!! Here is the final product!! It is definitely not perfect but for the first one I think it turned out pretty good! Can't wait to paint some more!!

Spring has Sprung!

One of my favorite things about spring is planting flowers. We are hoping to redo the landscaping in our front yard soon! Until then, I wanted to plant some flowers in pots. I have four pots that I put flowers in. Two of the pots have gerber daisies and dahlias. The other two pots have petunias. This year I wanted to buy some urns to go by the front door and put ferns in them. I love it! I can't wait until we do the front yard landscaping, I will post pictures when we get it finished. Here are some pictures of the pots
Red gerber daisies and red dahlias

Purple and pink petunias

Urns with ferns. My aunt made that arrangement for my birthday last year! We also dug up some hosta from my parents house last year and planted it. It didn't do so well last year but it is doing good this year. Here is part of the hosta we planted.

Looks pretty good huh??

This was what was in my mailbox today. My friend Carly sent me this flag for my birthday! I love it!

Aunt Robin to the rescue!! She got it open and dumped the candy everywhere!

Happy Birthday Lily!!

Today is my cousin, Lily's birthday party. She is turning 5!! I can't believe how time has flown by! My aunt doesn't live here so they are in town this weekend for her party at Fun City today. I can't wait to see her, I don't get to see her very often! She is a fun-loving girl with a lot of spunk! She will start kindergarten this fall, she is going to love it!
This is the most recent picture I have of her and it was taken at Christmas. She has changed a lot since then so I will upload some more pictures of her party later today.

For her birthday, I got her some outside toys such as bubble wands, a frisbee, golf set, a sprinkler, sidewalk chalk, etc. I think she is going to love it! I put it in a cute tub and wrapped it up and tied a bow on it. I was so proud of myself.

Happy Birthday sweet Lily!!
